The Dadsampler

A max patch for triggering airhorns or whatever other samples with your keyboard, midi controller, or wiimote.  Made by Ghostdad.  Inspired by Flossy FX.

Install Max Runtime on your machine.  This is just a little program that lets you run apps made with Max/MSP (kind of like Flash Player is to apps made in Flash).  It’s a quick download/install and should not mess with your machine.  Download it here:

Max 5.0.4 Runtime

Download and unzip the file.  Put the Dadsampler app wherever you want.

Open the Dadsampler and hit the speaker icon to turn audio on and off.  Set the master volume using the slider next to the speaker icon.  Hit the “load” button on each bank to load a sample for each bank, or drag and drop you sample onto the bank.  Click and drag the mouse up and down in the “start” number box to change the sample’s start time in milliseconds.  The "stop" button stops the sample in that bank.

Click the big button in each bank to play the sample loaded, or...

Keys ‘A’ through ‘Return’ on your keyboard will trigger samples in order left to right top to bottom, or…

Use midinotes 36 through 47 (numbers indicated on banks) to trigger samples with you midi keyboard or drum pad, or…

Hold 1 and 2 on your Wiimote and click the box on the bottom left of the sampler, when it finds your Wiimote, an X will appear in the box on the right (might take a second to connect).  Trigger, A, 1, and 2 buttons trigger the four samples in each row.  Arrow up and down sets which row of samples you are controlling with those buttons.
